Our board of managers is comprised of health care professionals. Collectively they have more than 100 years of experience in the medical industry. They founded this service to provide patients with the education and information they need to help make tough decisions in regards to their health care needs.
Paul Bluestein DC, President
Paul Bluestein is the Founder and President of Patient Advantage, LLC. Dr. Bluestein was driven to build this company by his passionate belief that we can close the gaps in our health care system.
In 2003, Patient Advantage, LLC began as a personal medical research and patient advocacy firm. Since its inception the company has evolved to better serve our clientele. We now offer risk management, wellness programs, disease management, health savings account education and other services. Patient Advantage currently serves members and facilities in seven different states and has positively impacted the health of thousands of our customers, members and their families.
Dr. Bluestein graduated from the University at Buffalo in 1978 with his teaching degree. He has continued to educate in various capacities for 35 years across education platforms including secondary schools, colleges, graduate schools, home schooling, corporate events, and community education. He believes that these experiences have given him a unique perspective about how to bring the tools of communication, assessment, and accountability to the education of lay people about healthcare.
After graduating from Life Chiropractic College in 1980, he began a chiropractic private practice. Since then, he lead a ten year effort to develop the first community college based education program for chiropractic paraprofessionals seeking accreditation from the State of New York Board of Education, as well as the enabling statute from the New York State legislature. He was one of the founders and principal partners of the New York Chiropractic Group, the first physicians group to obtain full hospital privileges for chiropractors in the State of New York. He has been published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiologic Therapeutics and the Journal of the American Chiropractic Association. In 1998 he was named Chiropractor of the Year for District 17.
Jeffrey Stuart MD, MBA, Medical Director
Dr. Jeffrey Stuart is the Medical Director of Patient Advantage, LLC. He oversees the clinical component of care plans and the policies and procedures of the Nurse Advocate and Health Coach operations.
He is an anesthesiologist by trade and the Medical Director of Washington Outpatient Surgery Center in Fremont, California. Here he is primarily responsible for all clinical operations of a multi-specialty surgery center performing over 6000 cases annually. His responsibilities also include directing the screening and scheduling of all patients at the center and he serves as Chairman of both the Continuous Quality Improvement and Credentialing Committees.
Dr. Stuart has extensive clinical and administrative experience with over 15 years in practice and has held past positions as the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington Hospital, also in Fremont, California and as Co-Managing partner and Clinical Director of Fremont Anesthesia Consultants. Dr. Stuart is a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, an organization responsible for evaluating and accrediting over 3000 ambulatory facilities in the United States.
Dr. Stuart received his M. D. from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Sally Gower, MBA
Sally Gower began her wellness quest in the pharmaceutical industry during the 1980's. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo, and then her MBA in Marketing - also from SUNY at Buffalo.
She has since attained her health coach certification through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and became certified in Plant Based Nutrition through Cornell. Additionally, Sally is a certified Food For Life Educator through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) in Washington D.C..
Sally is the owner and operator of EAT WELL BUFFALO. She firmly believes and educates others that you can both prevent and reverse disease through a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Sally takes pride in her diverse background and her committment to making a difference in the health and wellness of others.
Ellen Long, RN-ACE
Ellen Long has over 30 years experience in nursing, primarily in home care. She serves as the Nursing supervisor for Patient Advantage, LLC where she oversees the Nurse Advocates and Health Coaches.
